Holos shine bright like a diamond! Just catch some light on it, and if it sparkles, you got yourself a holo. If it doesn't, well, better luck next time.

Hold it up to the light. No sparkle? No holo. Easy.

Simple trick: tilt the card back and forth under a light. If it's holo, you'll see a shiny, reflective pattern on the picture part of the card. Non-holo cards just look flat under the light. Also, check the card number at the bottom right - if it's got a star or says 'Holo' there, you're in shiny town!

Actually, not all holos are super obvious. Some have subtle effects or only certain parts are holographic. Always check the card number and rarity symbol!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
