Figuring out the goodness of a Pokémon card involves checking a few things. First up, rarity! Look for symbols at the bottom right - a circle means common, a diamond for uncommon, and a star for rare. Next, check the card's abilities and how they match up with your deck strategy. High HP and strong attacks or useful abilities often mean a good catch. Also, consider the card's popularity in the player community – some cards are highly sought after for their strategic value in gameplay. And don't forget, the condition of the card matters for its collectibility and value!

Honestly, just go with whatever looks coolest to you. If you like the art, it's a good card in my book. Pokémon TCG is as much about having fun and collecting as it is about strategy!

The real trick is checking online databases and forums. They give you the current meta, telling you which cards pros use. If it's good enough for them, it's probably a solid choice.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
