You can't loot blown-up ships in Starfield! They're gone, poof, space dust.

I tried looting a blown-up ship once, but realized too late that you should target disabling it first. Capture tech intact, THEN loot!

Just disable the ship instead of blowing it up. Then you can board it and loot away!
