The simplest way to lower spawn rates in Terraria is to use the Peace Candle and Sunflowers. The Peace Candle reduces enemy spawns when it's lit nearby, and planting Sunflowers has a similar effect, making your immediate area a bit safer. Another trick is to create a small, player-made biome like the Hallow around your base since some biomes have lower spawn rates than others. Don't forget, staying well-lit and using calming potions can help too!
