Making a coin farm in Terraria is all about setting up a system to generate as many coins as possible, typically through killing enemies. My go-to method is creating an Ocean biome farm. You build a platform above the ocean and use Lava or traps to kill the ocean enemies, like Arapaimas or Sharks, which drop a good amount of coins. Make sure you have Water Candles and Battle Potions to increase spawn rates. You can AFK while the coins pile up but watch out for Blood Moons and other events that might need your attention!

Honestly, just play the game and explore. I never bothered with a coin farm and always had enough money for what I needed. Digging for treasure and selling excess loot is more than enough.
A simple yet effective coin farm? The good old Jellyfish Statue wired to a timer. Place it in water, let it spawn Jellyfish, and set up traps or lava to kill them automatically. They drop Glowsticks you can sell, but more importantly, coins! It's low maintenance and gets you started with some steady income.
