Go to Settings > Privacy and make sure to change 'Who can see your future posts?' to 'Friends' or 'Only Me'. Don't forget to review other privacy options there too.
To make your Facebook profile private, head to Settings & Privacy > Privacy Checkup, and follow the steps to set your privacy to "Friends" or "Only Me". You can also tweak individual settings in Settings & Privacy > Settings > Privacy to further fine-tune who can see what on your profile.
