You can use plaster gauze strips and white paint to create a more durable mask. Just shape the gauze over a balloon, let it dry, paint it, and add the details!
I made one with paper mache! Baloons for the base, layer on paper mache, let dry, then paint it white. Add Papyrus details with markers.
