Mastering the curveball is key! Spin the Poke Ball until it sparkles, then throw it at an angle to hit the center of the shrinking circle.
From my experience, practicing on lower-level Pokémon helps you get the feel for the perfect throw without wasting too many Poke Balls.
Honestly, just practice a lot. Like, A LOT. Eventually, you'll get the hang of it and start hitting those Excellent throws.
