If you don't want to crop your photo, try using an app like 'No Crop' or 'Instasize' to add borders and make it fit.
Simple. Just use the built-in Instagram editor to crop it. Done.
I've had great success with using Photoshop or any photo editing tool to resize the image to 1080x1080 pixels. Works every time!
