Building a standard Pokemon TCG deck starts with a solid foundation of 60 cards. Aim for a balance: about 20 Pokemon, 25 Trainers, and 15 Energy cards. Your deck should focus around a central strategy or type, using Pokemon that evolve from one another to maintain flow during gameplay. Don't forget to include a mix of basic and special Energy cards if your strategy requires it. Consistency is key, so include cards that let you draw more cards or search for the Pokemon you need.

Just pick your favorite Pokemon and throw in all the cards you have of them, right? Joking aside, it's all about that strategy. You need a main attacker, support Pokemon, enough Trainer cards for support, and don't skimp on the Energy. Also, keep an eye on the current Standard rotation to make sure all your cards are legal to play!

Honestly, you just need a good theme. Once you've got that, it all falls into place. My first deck was water-themed and it was unbeatable at the local league. Make sure your theme works well together, and don't forget to adjust based on what you're facing!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!
