Honestly, just use a basic land card and write the name of the card you're proxying on it with a sharpie. If it's just for casual play, your friends probably won't mind too much.

I've been making proxies for MTG playtesting for years. The trick is in the paper quality - use heavier card stock for a more authentic feel. After printing, I like to put the proxy in a sleeve with a real MTG card behind it for that perfect thickness and shuffle feel. Some players even go the extra mile and laminate their proxies, but I find that a bit overkill for just kitchen table games.

Making a proxy MTG card is pretty simple! All you need is a printer, some card stock, and a clear image of the card you want to proxy. Print the image on the card stock, and then cut it out to match the size of a standard MTG card. If you want it to feel more authentic, you can slide it into a card sleeve with a basic land card for stability.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
