No shield crafting on PS3. Maybe try using armor and blocking with your sword instead!

Yup, no shields on Minecraft PS3. The game is on an older version that doesn't include them.

Sorry to break it to ya, but you can't craft a shield in Minecraft on the PS3. Shields were introduced in the 1.9 update, and the PS3 version never received that update.
