To trigger a Solar Eclipse in Terraria, you can't actually 'make' it happen at will in the early game. It's a random event that has a 1 in 20 (5%) chance of occurring each day once you've defeated at least one mechanical boss (The Twins, The Destroyer, or Skeletron Prime). However, if you're in Hardmode and can't wait for RNG, you can craft a Solar Tablet. Combine 8 Solar Tablet Fragments at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil, and voilà, you can summon a Solar Eclipse whenever you feel like facing its challenges.

Just beat a mech boss and pray to RNGesus. The Solar Eclipse is totally random until you get your hands on a Solar Tablet.

Nah, just wait it out. Solar Eclipses happen often enough without trying to force them. Plus, the surprise is half the fun!

If you're a Terraria player, you need to download the Playbite app!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:
