Pro tip from a seasoned TF2 player: Head into the console, type `bind any_key any_command`. My fav is `bind mouse4 "build 0"` for quick Sentry building.
I think binds are overrated. Just practice using the default controls.
To create a bind in TF2, open the console (usually with the ` key) and type `bind [key] [command]`. For example, `bind k kill` will make pressing 'k' suicide your character. Have fun!
