I’ve done this a bunch of times! Just pick your vehicle, hit 'Customization', then 'Create a user skin'. Edit the files in the folder it generates. Have fun with it!
All you gotta do is select the vehicle, go to 'Customization', choose 'Create a user skin', and edit the files in the user skins directory.
