How to Make Decks of Pokemon Cards
AlightingTang路7 months agoBuilding a deck in the Pokemon TCG is all about balance. Start with picking a theme or favorite Pokemon to build around. Aim for a 20-20-20 split: 20 Pokemon, 20 Trainer cards, and 20 Energy cards. This isn't a hard rule but a good starting point. Adjust based on your strategy. Don't forget to include a mix of Basic Pokemon and their Evolutions, and ensure you have enough Energy cards to power your Pokemon's moves!

Play the long game! Start with your favorite, most powerful Pokemon and build backwards. Figure out which cards support your MVP the best, including Trainer cards that let you draw more cards or search your deck for Pokemon. Remember, a deck can only have 60 cards, so each card has to count. Also, don't pack in too many high-energy-cost moves; you won't always get the Energy cards you need when you need them.
Honestly, just toss in whatever cards you think are cool. Sometimes the best strategy is having fun and surprising your opponent with an unexpected move. Who knows, your 'fun' deck could be the next big meta!
Keep it simple. Start with one type of energy for your deck to ensure you always have the right energy for your moves. A deck with a single energy type is easier to manage and often more reliable.
