How to Make Foil Altered Art MTG Cards
Start with de-foiling a card, which means you'll remove the original ink from a foil card using acetone or a similar solvent. Once you've got your clean foil canvas, you can either hand-paint your design directly onto the card or print a new design onto transparency paper and transfer it onto the foil. Sealing the final product with a clear coat will protect your masterpiece!

Honestly, just commission an artist. Altering cards is a fine art and not for the clumsy. Plus, supporting artists is cool.
Printer method all the way! Printing your custom design on transparency and applying it to the card gives it that pro look with less hassle. Just make sure the ink doesn't smudge.
Why bother? Original foils look way cooler unaltered. Just collect 'em as they are!
