Honestly, most of the fun in Terraria is experimenting with what you find. You can follow guides, but sometimes just diving into caves and seeing what cool ores or chests you find is the best way to get started. Who knows, you might just stumble upon a powerful weapon from a chest!

To craft the best weapons in Terraria, you gotta mine ores and fight bosses for their loot! Start by mining ores like Iron or Lead to make basic weapons. Then, work your way up to mining Demonite or Crimtane ores dropped by the Eye of Cthulhu and Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu. Don't forget to use the ores to craft better pickaxes to mine even stronger ores! For the ultimate weapons, you'll need to defeat hardmode bosses and gather materials from the hardest biomes. Also, keep an eye out for rare weapon drops from enemies and chests!
Easy. Meteorite bars + Handgun = Space Gun. Pew Pew without worrying about mana. Best early to mid-game weapon IMO.
Just fish for the Reaver Shark pickaxe early on. It's a game-changer and can mine almost anything from the start. Then go beat some bosses for their materials.
