Making Hot Wheels color shifters at home might sound like a mission impossible, but it’s all about having the right materials and a bit of creativity! You'll need a temperature-sensitive paint, also known as thermochromic paint. First, strip your Hot Wheels car of its original paint by soaking it in paint remover. Next, apply a base coat of your choice. Once that's dry, apply the thermochromic paint. Remember, this type of paint changes color based on temperature, so playing with cold and warm temperatures will make your car change colors!

Just buy 'em, DIY might ruin the car.

Actually tried making one with a kit I found online. It's a fun weekend project, but the results are hit or miss. The key is multiple thin layers of thermochromic paint over a solid base coat. Patience is your best friend here.
