Simple! Just go to the Epic Games launcher, click on your profile in the top right corner, and set your status to 'Away'. It won't say 'Offline', but people might get the hint!

Real talk: you can’t truly appear offline in Fortnite. Best trick is to ignore invites and messages. Maybe change your status to 'Do Not Disturb' as well.
