Honestly, just spam torches everywhere. Works for me and keeps the mobs at bay. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lamps are another great option if you want something fancier than torches. You’ll need to craft them with redstone and glowstone.
You can also use glowstone blocks, which you find in the nether biome. They make everything super bright!
