Honestly, just play on a wired connection. Wi-Fi is the enemy of consistent speed.
First up, try lowering the graphic settings in the game's options. Less fancy visuals = more speed. Also, make sure your computer isn't running too many programs in the background. MTG Arena doesn't need to compete for resources with 30 tabs in Chrome.
If MTG Arena's still laggy, maybe it's time for an upgrade. Not saying you need the latest gaming rig, but if your computer is old, investing in some new hardware could be the way to go.
