Get ready to dig! Start by excavating a straight path underground. Then, lay down rails and add minecarts. Don't forget lighting and maybe some stations along the way for style.
First-hand experience here! I built mine by first planning a route on the surface, then digging underneath, placing powered rails, standard rails, and redstone torches to keep it lit. It took some time, but worth every second!
