I usually select the units I want, then hold down Ctrl+G to put them into a group. After that, you can move them with right-click and drag to your heart's content. Keeps things neat and tidy on the battlefield.

Quick tip: Use the Group Formation button after selecting multiple units. This way, your units will march in the exact setup you want. Happy conquering!

Easy peasy! Just select your units, hold down the Alt key, and then right-click and drag to set their formation. They'll maintain their ranks and move in style!
