How to Mass Unfollow on Instagram
I've found that just setting aside some time and unfollowing a few people every day works well. It's a bit slow, but Instagram won't flag your account for suspicious activity.

You can manually unfollow people by going to their profiles and tapping 'Unfollow,' but there're third-party apps designed to help you do it faster. Be careful though, since some of those apps might not be super safe or might get your account flagged!
