How to Move Chests in Terraria
Moving chests in Terraria is pretty straightforward, but you gotta empty them first. Just right-click the chest to open it, drag all the items into your inventory, and then you can smack it with a pickaxe until it breaks. Now you can pick it up and place it wherever you want. Remember, you can't move a chest if there's anything in it.

I've been moving chests in my game for years. The trick is the pickaxe, but yeah, don't forget to empty them first. Made that mistake once and had to sort through all my items again. Not fun.
