Simple fix! Open the game, tap on the PokeBall to go to Settings, and uncheck 'Sound Effects' and 'Music.' Problem solved!

Why mute it? Embrace the tunes! But if you insist, Settings > Music + Sound Effects off.

Muting Pokemon GO is super easy! Just go to Settings in the game and uncheck the Music and Sound Effects boxes. Silent mode engaged!
