Just use the settings menu on your PS5 to disable the controller mic and keep your headset mic on. Go to ‘Sound’ in the settings, then ‘Microphone,’ and choose your headset.

Simply press the mic button on your DualSense controller! It's the small button below the PlayStation button – it'll mute the controller mic without affecting your headset.

Forget complicated settings – just hold the mic button until it lights up, and the thing is muted.

Hold the mic button on the controller until the light turns orange. This mutes the controller mic but keeps your headset mic active.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
