Honestly, just call it whatever you want. The nicknames for evolution are a bonus trick, but it doesn't affect your game otherwise!

From my own experience, renaming your Eevee to 'Rainer' got me Vaporeon every time. It’s a neat trick if you don’t want to leave it to chance.
