You can be an Instagram ninja by turning off your Activity Status. Go to Settings > Privacy > Activity Status, and toggle it off. Boom, you're invisible!

If you want to keep your online status hidden on Instagram, just turn off the "Activity Status" in your privacy settings. I do it all the time and no one can tell if I'm lurking or not.
