How to not show mutual friends on Facebook
You can't completely hide mutual friends, but you can adjust your privacy settings to limit who can see your friends list. Go to Settings > Privacy > How People Find and Contact You > Who can see your friends list? Set it to 'Only me.'

I've tried this myself! Set your friends list to 'Only me' in the privacy settings. Keep in mind, mutual friends might still be visible to others.
Sorry to break it to you, but you can't hide mutual friends. Facebook doesn't have that option.
If you want to hide your friend list, just go to your profile, click on 'Friends,' then click the pencil icon and change the privacy setting to 'Only me.'
