First, you'll need a Torx T8 Security screwdriver. There are 5 screws: 2 under each grip (you'll have to pry off the plastic grips), and 1 under the battery compartment sticker. Remove these and the controller will come apart!

Get a Torx T8 screwdriver and pry off the side grips. Remove the screws (5 in total), and voila鈥攜our controller's open!

Heads up: voiding the warranty when you open it might be an issue. Better be sure before prying it open!

You really only need a Torx T8 screwdriver to unscrew 5 screws (under grips and battery) to open it.

I opened mine using a Torx T8 Security screwdriver to remove 5 screws. Remember to be gentle with those plastic grips!

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
