For the tech adventurers: dive into Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck, install Wine or a similar compatibility tool, and try running your .exe file with it. It's a bit hands-on and might require some Linux knowledge, but where there's a will, there's a way!

Just use Proton, folks. It's built into Steam for Linux and does the heavy lifting for you.

You can't directly open .exe files on the Steam Deck because it runs on SteamOS, which is Linux-based. However, you can try using Proton, a compatibility layer that lets you play Windows games on Linux through Steam. Just add the .exe as a non-Steam game to your Steam library, and Proton should take care of the rest!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
