Opening Hot Wheels boxes without damaging them is an art! You want to gently slide a thin knife or a box cutter along the edges of the plastic where it meets the cardboard backing. Be super careful not to push too deep to avoid damaging the car or the box. Work slowly around the edges until the plastic detaches. This way, you keep both the box and the car in mint condition for your collection!

I always use a small flathead screwdriver. Gently pry along the edges where the plastic meets the cardboard. Takes a bit of patience, but I've opened dozens like this without a hitch. Keeping the box nice adds to the display value if you ask me.

Just rip it open! Life's too short to worry about keeping the box perfect.
