How to Open Parachute in GTA V
Opening a parachute in GTA V is pretty straightforward! First, make sure you actually have a parachute (you can pick these up at Ammu-Nation stores). Once you're in the air, either after jumping off a plane or a high building, just hit the 'X' button on PlayStation, 'A' on Xbox, or the 'F' key on PC. And voilà, enjoy the view!

LOL, make sure you're actually high enough to need a parachute. I've seen too many people try to open them just jumping off a car. Spoiler: It doesn’t work.
Just press 'A' on Xbox. Trust me, you don't wanna forget that.
