You've gotta unlock the Treasure Cracker upgrades! Head to the Lab after it's unlocked and spend some Newbucks to get them. Happy hunting!
I've unlocked them by going through the 7Zee Rewards Club ranks and spending Newbucks on the Treasure Cracker upgrades. It's a bit of a grind, but worth it!
There's really no shortcut: progress in-game, spend Newbucks on upgrades, and open away. In the meantime, enjoy the scenery!
Just play the game, follow the main quest-line, and the upgrades will come naturally. No biggie.
