First, you'll need to unlock the Treasure Cracker upgrades at the Lab. Once you reach a certain point in the game, specifically after purchasing a certain amount of upgrades, these become available. Just head to the Lab, purchase the Treasure Cracker upgrade, and voila, you can now open those shiny pods!
