Just peel back the label in the battery compartment, unscrew the Torx screw underneath with a T8, and gently pull the controller apart. Easy-peasy!

You'll need a Torx T8 screwdriver. Remove the batteries, unscrew the hidden screw behind the label in the battery compartment, then carefully pry it open.

Carefully pop off the back plastic cover using a prying tool or flathead screwdriver鈥攂eneath the battery compartment, there鈥檚 a hidden screw. Unscrew it, then gently separate the front and back shell pieces!

I've done this! Use a prying tool to carefully pop off the grips, peel back the label in the battery compartment, and use a Torx T8 to unscrew and open your controller. Totally worth it if you need to fix drift or clean the insides.

Why do you even want to open it? Just play some games and leave the poor controller alone!

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
