Did someone sit on it? If it's an IR remote, you don't actually pair it! Just point it like a wizard with a wand!

To pair an old Roku remote, first remove the battery cover and press the pairing button. Hold it until the light starts flashing. This tells your Roku, 'Hey, it's me!' PS: Make sure your Roku is on!

Just put fresh batteries in and press buttons. Worked for me after a few tries!

Old Roku remotes might not pair if they're too ancient, but try the obvious first: fresh batteries and a long press of the pairing button!
