To temporarily take a break, you can deactivate your Facebook account. Just go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Your Facebook Information > Deactivation and Deletion, then follow the steps to deactivate your account!
I've done this myself when I needed a break. Deactivation was like a social media detox for me without losing everything!
