In your Audible account settings, find the membership details and there's an option to pause for a bit. If you can't find it, try contacting customer support and they'll sort it out.

I paused mine last month. Just log into Audible on a web browser, go to your 'Membership Details', and you'll see the option to pause. Super straightforward!
