I updated my PS3 last week. Just head to Settings, then System Update, and choose Update via Internet. Follow the prompts, and you'll be good to go. Easy peasy!

Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media if you have a USB drive with the update file. It's a bit tricky but worth it if your internet is slow.
