How to permanently delete the Facebook account
Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Your Facebook Information > Deactivation and Deletion. Then choose Permanently Delete Account and follow the prompts.

Honestly, just search 'delete Facebook account' in the Help Center. They walk you right through it.
I deleted mine a year ago. From your profile, head to Settings, then to 'Your Facebook Information', and select 'Deactivation and Deletion' to permanently delete your account.
