To pick off a runner in MLB The Show 21, press L2 (or LT on Xbox) to initiate the move, then immediately press the base button where the runner is attempting to steal. Boom, they’re out!

Just spam L2 and the direction of the base! Annoy them into submission. But seriously, be strategic – timing is everything.
Hold L2 (LT on Xbox) and flick the right stick towards the base for a quick pick-off attempt. Just make sure your timing’s good or it might backfire!
Pickoffs are easy: L2 + base button. Practice a few times and you'll get the hang of it.
