Sometimes it'll be called X4 instead of C4, but it's the same deal. Select the soldier, get close to the objective, and choose 'Plant X4 Charge.' Boom!

Planting C4 in XCOM 2 is simple! Just move a soldier with the demolition charge to the designated target and use the 'Plant X4 Charge' action.

You can't really plant C4 in every mission. It's usually for specific mission objectives like sabotaging enemy facilities. Look for those!

Used to get stuck on this too! Just move your soldier with the X4 charge close to the target marker and select the 'Plant X4 Charge' action.
