You can also play movies from a USB drive. Just plug it into the PS3, navigate to the Video section in the XMB, find the USB device, and select your movie file.

Simple! Just insert the DVD or Blu-ray into your PS3, and it should start playing automatically. If not, go to the Video tab on the XMB (cross-media bar) and select your disc!

Honestly, who uses a PS3 for movies anymore? Just stream it on a smart TV or another device. But hey, if you must, it works!
