You can't directly add MP3s to Spotify playlists from the app. Use Local Files in the desktop app to import them first, then sync with your mobile device.

To play MP3 files on Spotify, you need to import them into Spotify first. Go to Settings > Local Files and enable 'Show Local Files.' Then, add the folder where your MP3s are stored. Once added, create a playlist and drag your imported MP3 files into it. Easy peasy!
Not possible. Spotify only streams its own library of licensed content. Use another app for MP3s.
I do this all the time! Just make sure your local files are enabled in settings and add your MP3s to a new playlist. I've got my rare tracks seamlessly mixing with my Spotify faves!
