Grab a buddy and give them a controller; then, on the title screen, select "2 Player Mode" to team up in Sonic Mania! You'll be able to tackle the levels together, with one player as Sonic and the other as Tails. It's a blast!
To play co-op mode in Sonic Mania, simply connect another controller and select "2 Player" at the start. Easy peasy!
You don't play co-op in Sonic Mania; you and your friend just take turns arguing over who gets to be Sonic!
