You can play the base content of Destiny 2 without a PlayStation Plus subscription! However, for raids, Nightfall strikes, and other endgame activities, you'll need PS Plus.

You don't need PlayStation Plus for regular missions, patrols, and PvE content in Destiny 2. But unfortunately, PS Plus is required for any multiplayer modes.
