How to play Fallout 4 on ultrawide
DebiasingPons路6 months agoGot an ultrawide monitor and wanna dive into the wasteland in style? First off, you're gonna need to tweak some game files. Head over to where Fallout 4 is installed, find the Fallout4Prefs.ini file, and open it with a notepad. Look for the lines that say 'iSize H=' and 'iSize W=' and change them to your monitor's resolution. Don't forget to set the file to read-only after saving your changes. This should get you a decent stretch to fill that gorgeous ultrawide screen. If you're not into messing with game files, there's also a bunch of mods on the NexusMods website specifically for ultrawide support that'll make the process simpler.

Honestly, just grab a mod. The 'TruBy9 Ultrawide' mod on NexusMods fixes everything from the stretched HUD to the FOV issues. It's a plug-and-play solution, no fuss with .ini files needed.
I've been playing on ultrawide with mods for years, and it's the only way to go. Also, if you're okay with a bit of tinkering, adjusting the .ini files yourself does give you that extra sense of accomplishment. Plus, the game looks fantastic filling out the whole screen.
Mods, mods, and more mods. Ultrawide support in Fallout 4 isn't perfect out of the box, but the community's got your back. Check out the mods.
